Sauerkraut and Vitamin K2

Sauerkraut and Vitamin K2

Sauerkraut is made from fermented cabbage, it’s full of good bacteria that helps keep our gut microbiome in balance. Sauerkraut is also a source of Vitamin K2, an important vitamin for bone health, helping to prevent osteoporosis and reducing the risk of fractures. It works alongside Calcium and D3. Vitamin K helps to prevent Calcium depositing in arteries which not only benefits bone health but heart health too. When Vitamin K2 breaks down calcium in our bodies it activates a protein that helps the mineral bind to our bones.

Vitamin K2 is also important for blood clotting and wound healing, great for repairing skin could this important vitamin also be good for wrinkles? There haven’t been enough studies yet although we do know Sauerkraut is great for gut health so it isn’t a bad idea to eat it anyway and maybe we could all look younger for longer too!
