Sounds of nature benefit mental health

New research has confirmed once again that the sounds of nature are beneficial for good mental health. As part of a new BBC podcast series called Forest 404 that imagines a world without nature, data was collected from 7,500 people. The research, a collaboration between the BBC Natural History Unit, BBC Radio 4, Exeter University, Bristol University and the Open University found that participants reported sounds from nature including birdsong, falling rain and breaking waves provided therapeutic relief from stress and mental fatigue.
