The World Health Organization ‘Adopting a healthy lifestyle reduces the risk of dementia.’
A huge new review by The World Health Organization has reinforced the existing evidence based belief that although age is a risk factor for dementia it is not an inevitable consequence of ageing.
The WHO released new guidelines based on a review of all the relevant previous research and studies on dementia. These guidelines recommend that the best way to reduce the risk of developing dementia is to follow a healthy lifestyle which includes eating a healthy diet, exercising, not smoking, cutting down on alcohol, maintaining blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
