A review of 15 studies links the consumption of processed meat to breast cancer
A review of 15 studies involving more than 1.2 million individuals found those who regularly eat processed meat are at risk of developing breast cancer. The review published in the International Journal of Cancer found that processed meat consumption increased the risk of breast cancer by 9%.
NOTE: A study of 260,000 post menopausal women found that individuals consuming more than 9g of processed meat per day are 20% more likely to develop breast cancer than those who abstain.
